Cara Cummings serves as the Senior Accountant for Ashford Securities. Cara assists Ruben Renteria and Bruce Summer in all financial and accounting operations of the company.

Prior to joining Ashford, Cara worked in public accounting as an external auditor for private companies and not-for-profit organizations. She often traveled in and around the DFW area and South Louisiana to visit clients, where she primarily worked on Employee Benefit Plans and Financial Statement Audits.

Cara received her bachelor’s in accounting from the University of North Texas (UNT). While attending UNT, Cara served as the Director of Operations for the Professional Accounting Student Society (PASS), was a member of Women in Business, and was a mentor with the G. Brint Ryan College of Business Mentoring Program, where she took new students under her wing.

Cara enjoys taking her golden retriever, Dolly Parton, on hikes and spending her time outside. She and Dolly have gone on multiple cross-country road trips and have been to numerous national and state parks, including Niagara Falls.
